2010 Year End Awards & Rules

General Rules:

To qualify for a WSPHC Year End Award:

1.    Owner(s) or Lessee(s) must be a member(s) of Washington State Paint Horse Club.

  1. Member must attend at least two meetings of Washington State Paint Horse Club.  (The January Banquet not to count)

  2. Member must work at the WSPHC's annual Star Spangled Classic Paint-O-Rama and register on the work "sign up" sheet at the show.

  3. Member must send a WSPHC nomination to the WSPHC Point Keeper before their points will count.  Nomination Sheet will be emailed out to members.

  4. All owners lessees and riders of declared horse must be in good standing with APHA.

2.    All horses (except weanlings) must be registered with APHA.

3.    All NWCC Shows will count for WSPHC Year End Awards.

4.    The show season will be the same as the NWCC show season. (December 1 -  November 30)

5.    The Year End Awards will be awarded at the WSPHC Banquet in January.

 

Point System:

  1. Performance points will be awarded according to the NWCC point System.

  2. Halter points will be awarded according to the NWCC Point System.  In addition:  Grand Champion will have two more points than the winner of the largest class.  Reserve champion will have one more point than the winner of the largest class. (This is also covered in the NWCC Point System).

  3. Ties will be broken in the following manner:  The horse or exhibitor accumulating equal points but showing the least number of times will receive the award.  If this is equal, the horse that places over the other horse the greatest number of times will be declared the winner.

  4. Champion and Reserve High Point Awards will be awarded in areas where horses or riders qualify.

  5. Horses and/or riders must earn 10 NWCC points at NWCC approved Paint shows or 10 points in Open Shows to qualify for WSPHC Year End Awards.

WSPHC Year End Award - 2009

Below is a list of the award that can be awarded at the WSPHC's Annual Banquet.  (if there is a qualified horse or/a rider)

1.    Halter Awards (High Point & Reserve High Point)

  1. Mare

  2. Gelding

  3. Stallion

  4. Amateur Mare

  5. Amateur Gelding

  6. Amateur Stallion

  7. Youth Mare

  8. Youth Gelding

2.    Youth Awards (Halter does not count)

  1. Leadline -          Champion and Reserve

  2. Walk/Trot -       Champion & Reserve

  3. 13 & Under -     Champion & Reserve

  4. 14 thru 18 -        Champion & Reserve

  5. Novice Youth -   Champion & Reserve

3.    Novice Amateur Award - Champion & Reserve (Halter does not count)

4.    Amateur Award - Champion & Reserve (Halter does not count)

5.    Open Performance Awards - accumulated from at least 2 APHA categories (Halter does not count)

  1. Junior Horse -     Champion & Reserve

  2. Senior Horse -     Champion & Reserve

6.    High Point APHA PAC Award

  1. For WSPHC members' Paint Horses that meet rules 1 and 5 under General Rules.

  2. The show season for the WSPHC's PAC High Point Year End Award season begins on December 1 and ends on following November 30.

  3. Send Declaration Forms to WSPHC Year End Awards Points Keeper

7.    WSPHC Rookie of the Year:  This award will be given to the WSPHC's Rookie as voted on by the WSPHC membership (not the Youth members) at the November meeting.

8.    WSPHC Youth Member of the Year:  This award will be given to the WSPHC's Youth who is active in the WSPHC/WSJPHC and is most deserving of this award through his/her help with club activities and sportsmanlike conduct throughout the year.  To be voted on by WSPHC's entire membership at the November meeting.

9.    WSPHC Member of the Year:  This award will be given to the WSPHC member who during the year shows through his/her actions at meetings, shows, and other club functions that he/she is deserving of this award.  To be voted on by the WSPHC membership (not the youth members) at the November meeting.

10.    High point Trail Riding Award - DOLLARS DANDYBOB MEMORIAL PERPETUAL TRAIL RIDER AWARD -see separate rules and sign up form for this award.
